Story presented in the cult American film The Great Escape from 1963
with Steve McQueen has its continuation in the Polish city of Szczecin situated 200km from Berlin.
A group of prisoners escape through a tunnel
from the best guarded camp of the Third Reich - Stalag Luft III - 200 km from Szczecin. Two Norwegian pilots Per Bergsland and Jens Müller choose Szczecin. In a French brothel they look for ally. Harry Day and Pole Paul Tobolski, wearing Luftwaffe uniform, also reach the city. Their only chance is Poles sister, who married a German. It is a race against time.
The Great Escape to the North is a unique docu-drama,keeping the viewer in suspense from the first minute to the last. The heroic act of RAFs airmen was a great effort fulfiling the eternal need for freedom.
