Bill Slims master plan is near fruition and the Japanese are surrounded at Meiktila in Burma. Tha Allies have also nearly cleared Manila on Luzon, but the fighting on Iwo Jima is just growing in intensity. In Europe, the Soviets are still on the move in Poland, though attacking now to the north, but in Hungary its the Germans who are making plans for a new offensive. The big news on the Western Front is the Allies reaching the Rhine, though how theyll cross that mighty river is anyones guess.
