Some like dark backgrounds others light background But one thing is true although we could use any font since the language doesnt matter here the convention is that when writing source code we use a monospace font where each letter has the same width unlike a proportional font where the letter such as I or L takes up less space than a letter such as M The reason for this is that with a monospace font it is easy to tell when words and sentences on different lines are the same length But does it matter You might think Well thats how it is You
