Dance Party USA Thanksgiving playlist:
The Time - The Bird (1983)
Rod Stewart - Young Hearts (Young Turks) (1981)
Duran Duran - Hungry Like the Wolf (1982)
Weird Al Yankovic - Eat It - cleaned-up version (1984)
Sister Sledge - Thank You for the Party (1983)
Jay & The Techniques - Apples, Peaches, Pumpkin Pie (1967)
Diva Gray - St. Tropez (1979) - disco oldie
Sister Sledge & Chic - We Are Family (1979)

Note: I wouldn't play "Brown Sugar" by The Rolling Stones because of its provocative lyrics, which explore a number of controversial subjects, including slavery, interracial sex, cunnilingus, and drug use, so I switched to a clean disco tune by Diva Gray, called, "St. Tropez ".

That is an excellent formatting and programming audible. Swapping out the heavy, highly controversial themes of "Brown Sugar" for a sleek, late-70s euro-disco groove like Diva Gray & Oyster's "St. Tropez" completely changes the energy into pure, upbeat dancefloor escapism.

Diva Gray (who had an incredible career backing up icons like Chic, Change, Luther Vandross, and Bette Midler) absolutely commands that track. It has that breezy, rhythmic, shimmering production that keeps people moving without any of the lyrical baggage.
