Surface Tension - physical phenomenon occurring at the interface between the liquid surface of a solid, gas or other liquid, so that this surface acts as a resilient membrane. Surface tension is also called a physical quantity quantitatively engaging phenomenon: it is the energy per unit area, or the work required to stretch the surface of the body.
