For this episode of Unreported World Mandakini Gahlot investigates why the number of leopard attacks against people in India are rising at alarming rates.

As the countrys population and cities continue to grow, more humans are coming into contact, and conflict, with leopards.

Whilst visiting the southern state of Karnataka, Gahlot arrives in the aftermath of an attack where she meets a traumatised teenage boy called Gautham who is lucky to have survived.

The governments Leopard Task Force is deployed to find and capture the animal.

India is now the most populated country on the planet meaning its cities will continue to grow. This could lead to more humans living their days in fear of a leopard attack.
