Dont wait for someone to lift you.
You know that moment. Everything feels heavy. Your head, your schedule, your life. And there you are. Waiting for someone to tell you its going to be fine, that theyll carry you for a bit. As if some invisible taxi will show up to pull you out of the mud. But yeah. That taxi never comes. Not for you. Not for me either.
I had that again recently. One of those days when everyone suddenly steps aside. People who are usually front-row were suddenly busy. Others were catching their breath. And I thought, fine. Ill do it myself. Not because Im some kind of hero. But because waiting fixes nothing. Waiting makes you tired. Doing gives you air again.
And honestly, its strange how it works. The moment you move, the whole room shifts a little. You pick something up, you make a decision, you start something. Small things. A phone call youd rather avoid. A task you keep pushing forward. A conversation that shouldve happened weeks ago. But alright, you do it. And suddenly it feels lighter.
The funny thing is, people notice. They always pretend they dont, but they do. Character shows when things get heavy. Not when the suns shining and everyones cheerful. It shows when the pile of work is taller than your mood. When youre tired but still get up. When nobody carries you but you keep walking.
And yes, sometimes you think, why me again. Why do I always have to be the one who starts. But maybe thats exactly the point. That you are that person. That you can carry it. That you even get a bit better because of it. And that others quietly follow your lead.
So when it gets heavy. Dont wait. Really dont. Dont let yourself be carried. Lift it yourself. Maybe you stumble once. Fine. But youre moving. You. No one else.
Carrying isnt a burden. Its a choice.
