Directors Statement: Social stratification, especially hierarchy, still exists in the 21st century, and leads to unknown results in society. One of its examples is this situation with the lead character Umit. Umit means Hope in Kazakh language, and it clearly describes the character and her ambitions. I decided to write and direct this story to share the experience of a womans story I read in the news during my bachelors days as a journalism student in China. I only want the law to be equal for everyone, regardless of social status and power. Only then, everyone might live a happy life. The theme of this movie is the rebirth of hope and love, getting justice after having reached the very bottom. This film is more about every parents love for their child, especially the mothers endless love. After Umits daughter passed away, her entire world breaks apart: she loses the meaning of her life, and colors lose their tone only the goal of getting justice and love for her daughter drives her forward and gives her strength. Inspired by life news covering topics about corruption, and movies Hope, Room, Three Colors: Blue. I didnt imagine that after the first screening of this film at a film festival, one person from the audience would reach me and share a real similar story. That truly touched me as a creator and pushed me to create more real stories.
