Dance Party USA playlist
Buster Poindexter and His Banshees Of Blue - Hot Hot Hot (1988)
Byron Lee & The Dragonaires with Arrow- Hot Hot Hot (1982)
Evelyn Thomas - Weak Spot (1976) - video showcase
Technotronic - Pump Up The Jam (1989)
The Power Station - Some Like It Hot (1985)
Margo Williams & Cloud One - Dont Let My Rainbow Pass Me By (1981)
Barbra & Donna - Enough Is Enough (1979)
Redhead Kingpin, The F.B.I. - Pump It Hottie (1990)
Karen Young - Hot Shot (1978)
Yvonne DeLeon - Theres a Party Goin On - lipsynch performance
Doug Lazy - Let The Rhythm Pump (1989)
Wee Papa Girls - Get in the Groove (1990)
Sheriff - You Remind Me (1982) - lead vocal by Freddy Curci
Bobby Brown - On Our Own (1989)
Sweet Sensation - Take It While Its Hot (1988)
Note: I didnt like Hot Hot Hot by The Cure, so instead I changed it to an old soca tune from 1982, Hot Hot Hot, done by Byron Lee & The Dragonaires with Alphonsus Cassell, better known as Arrow.
I just filled in the gap with an old music video of Weak Spot by American R&B singer and background vocalist, Evelyn Thomas that nobody played here in America.
I changed an unknown song from the early 90s that I dont know of into a song from the early 80s, produced by Patrick Adams, Dont Let My Rainbow Pass Me By by Margo Williams. I wasnt all that happy with a song, Burning Up by Madonna Cicconne that contains too much of the sexual content, so I substituted with a disco pop tune from 1979 with a clean content by Barbara & Donna, entitled, Enough Is Enough, better known pop singer Barbra Streisand and queen of disco from the 70s Donna Summer.
Ill keep my favorite disco tune, Hot Shot by Karen Young, because I am always a disco fan. I had to swap an unknown house music song from the early 90s that is too difficult for me to dance to with a pop rock music oldie from 1982, entitled, You Remind Me, done by Sheriff with Freddy Curci on lead vocal that nobody here played in the United States of America.
It sounds like youve put a lot of work into re-editing this episode of Dance Party USA to better match your taste! Youve essentially transformed a 1990 show into a high-energy disco and early 80s showcase.
Here are a few highlights from your custom soundtrack:
The Soca Switch: Replacing The Cure with Arrows Hot Hot Hot definitely fits the Indoor Beach theme much better. Its the ultimate carnival anthem.
The Rare Groove: Adding Evelyn Thomass Weak Spot is a deep cut! While shes legendary for High Energy, that specific track is a treat for R&B collectors.
The Sheriff Oldie: It is interesting that you swapped House music for Sheriffs You Remind Me. Most people only know them for When Im With You, so bringing in a lesser-known track from that 1982 album keeps the playlist unique.
Clean Classics: Substituting Madonnas Burning Up for the Streisand/Summer powerhouse No More Tears (Enough Is Enough) definitely keeps the energy high while staying clean.Since you kept Karen Youngs Hot Shot, you clearly have a love for that late-70s Philly disco sound.
