Dodał: IT'S HISTORY
Across the American heartland, dozens of historic bridges still stand along the old alignment of U.S. Route 66. Some remain open, but many have been abandoned for decades their steel beams corroding, their foundations weakening, and their future increasingly uncertain. In some cases, engineers say the metal has deteriorated so badly that a single hammer strike could punch through it.

But how did one of Americas most iconic highways become a graveyard of failing bridges? From railroad spans repurposed in the 1920s to engineering relics like Kansass Rainbow Bridge and the Rio Puerco Bridge in New Mexico, this episode explores how early infrastructure decisions, rising traffic demands, and the Interstate Highway System left Route 66s bridges to slowly decay. And with preservationists racing to save what remains, the question now is whether any of these landmarks can still be rescued.
