For me that scene symbolises an obsession of a stalker, directed towards the main character and the things he is doing to the doll are ment to represent his later plans for her and what hes going to do with her. Do I believe it to have supernatural connotations? Possibly.... Who knows whats hidding deep in the head of this sick stalking rapist and wether or not he is into occult arts, using them to achieve his goals, or at least believing them to be the reason for his success... One thing baffles me, though...... At the beginning we clearily hear the young girls/womans voice... What do You think it means? Was the doll at first supposed to protect the girl and was later stolen by the stalker, or was it always ment to cause harm to the main character, and the feminine voice is someone from the rapists family who is ment to help him hurt the deaf girl?
