This week on Media & Games Insight: Star Wars: Battlefront II was the successor to the hugely successful original Battlefront, one of the first times that players could enter massive battles against other players in the Star Wars. But this latest release had something far more sinister than a Sith Lord...

Loot Boxes. While Loot Boxes have always garnered some level of hate from some segments of gaming communities, the truth of the matter is that they pay the bills. While many games these days are offering just cosmetic items in loot boxes, Battlefront II went about their process in one of the worst ways possible: by allowing players true power upgrades when they pay money to unlock new features and items.

While many companies survive on this model, EA addressed community concerns with an arguably poor response on Reddit and earned themselves one of the most downvoted Reddit posts of all time.
